Obverse: Regular Liberty Seated die of the year.

Reverse: Paquet’s Perched Eagle. Perfect ribbon (as opposed to “broken ribbon”); groups of four vertical lines in the shield; seven tail feathers; pointed wingtip at right; full leaf above A (in HALF). Perched eagle with a ribbon across the shield, continuing to the eagle’s beak, eagle’s head facing to viewer’s left, olive branch and arrows below. Legends in tall letters, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / HALF DOLLAR. By engraver Anthony C. Paquet. This is Reverse A of 1859.
