1936 Robinson - Arkansas Half dollar MS Values

Details

The Robinson half dollar, honoring Arkansas Senator Joseph T. Robinson, was issued in 1936 as part of the Arkansas half dollar type struck from 1934 through 1939. They were struck at the Philadelphia Mint, whereas the other Arkansas halves were struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints for each of the five years the type was in production. While the 1936 Robinson half dollar replaces the typical Arkansas obverse, which feature a jugate portrait of a young girl and a Native American, the Robinson version features the same eagle reverse as seen on other Arkansas halves. The Robinson half dollar was designed by Everett Burr and Henry Kreis.

The Robinson half dollar is moderately scarce and though most are known in uncirculated condition. The typical Robinson half dollar appears in MS63 to MS65 and offer nice strike and luster. Small but significant supplies known in MS66 and MS67. Pieces grading MS68 or higher are extraordinarily rare.
