1936 Wisconsin Half dollar MS Values

Details

This 1936 commemorative half dollar honors the 100th anniversary of Wisconsin's territorial government. The coin was originally designed by David Parsons and received some technical modifications by Benjamin Hawkins. The obverse features a badger on a log, the Wisconsin state emblem, and arrows symbolizing the Black Hawk War of the early 1830s. The reverse incorporates the Wisconsin territorial seal, depicting a forearm with a pickaxe, a mound of lead ore, and the inscription 4TH DAY OF JULY ANNO DOMINI 1836.

The 1936 Wisconsin half dollar is common in across the grading spectrum, though the vast majority are known from MS62 through MS66, with examples grading MS67 scarce and those grading MS68 or higher quite rare. Many specimens exhibit terrific luster, color, and overall eye appeal.
