1944-D/S Over Mintmark One Cent MS RB Values
Details
The 1944-D over S is a popular variety with at least two types known, though the most prominent examples show the D much lower than the original S mintmark. A few thousand survivors are known to exist. While the coin is scarce in all grades, it is not a categorically cost-prohibitive coin, at least for the most die-hard of Lincoln cent specialists.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
