2026-M Silver 10 Euros, 8 Reales PR DCAM General Bernardo de Gálvez Values
Details
A ten-coin program issued by the Royal Spanish Mint to mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, and to put on record the decisive part Spain played in it — from the campaigns of Bernardo de Gálvez on the Gulf Coast to the Spanish milled dollar that became the model for the first American dollar. Three coins were released in 2025 and seven in 2026.
This coin is made of Silver and has a current melt value of $30.19
Obverse: Bernardo de Gálvez, after the portrait by Mariano Salvador Maella. As governor of Louisiana he led the Spanish campaigns on the Mississippi, in Florida and on the Gulf of Mexico, taking Baton Rouge, Mobile and Pensacola, and kept weapons, ammunition and supplies flowing to the American armies through New Orleans. Charles III granted him the motto “Yo solo” for his coat of arms; the United States later made him an honorary citizen and hung his portrait in the Capitol.
Reverse: The Battle of Pensacola, 1781, after an 18th-century engraving. The victory secured control of the Gulf of Mexico and marked the beginning of the end of the war.
