1911 Matte Finish One Cent PR RB Values
Details
All 1911 matte proof Lincoln cents are scarce, but this issue isn't quite as scarce as other early Lincoln proofs, such as the 1909 VDB and 1916. Matte proofs look similar to their same-year business-strike counterparts in many regards, though this is proven untrue upon closer inspection. A few of the major differences between matte proofs and business strikes come in surface quality and detail. Matte proofs have squared-off rims and finer details, and they also boast granular surfaces.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portait and the date postioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
