The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Federal Reserve Bank of China (行銀備準合聯國中) series of China Occupation in the World Currency contains 80 distinct entries with CPG® values between $1.00 and $3,000.00.
The Provisional Government of the Republic of China was established in Beijing on 14 December 1937 by the Japanese North China Expeditionary Army. Founded on 11 February 1938, the Federal Reserve Bank of China (FRB) was authorized to issue both coins and banknotes within the territory controlled by the government. The FRB yuan was officially fixed at par with the Japanese yen, although unofficial exchange rates fluctuated widely during the seven-year period the bank operated. Denominations of 1 dollar or higher were repurposed from Ta Ching Government Bank (TCB) 1910 issues (B913 - B916), with the portrait of Zaifeng replaced by Kongzi (Confucius). The bank’s logo appears as a watermark on some issues. For reference purposes, it appears printed at top center front in B5413 - B5415 and at left center front in B5416, B5417.
