The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Republique Syrienne series of Syria in the World Currency contains 16 distinct entries with CPG® values between $4.00 and $750.00.

Despite the 1937 agreement granting exclusive banknote issuance authority to the Banque de Syrie et du Liban, the outbreak of World War II caused a shortage of coinage in Syria, prompting the Republique Syrienne (Syrian Republic, REP) to issue small change notes beginning in 1942.
