The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe series of Zimbabwe in the World Currency contains 309 distinct entries with CPG® values between $0.75 and $525.00.
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has its origins in the Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland which was created in March 1956 as a central bank for the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. The Reserve Bank was the successor to the Central African Currency Board, which had the sole right to issue currency. The German security printer Giesecke & Devrient is known to have been the primary supplier of paper substrate for the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s banknotes, but halted shipments on 1 July 2008, due to international pressure following a controversial presidential run-off election in Zimbabwe. Most notes were printed at Fidelity Printers and Refiners in Harare, though they do not carry an imprint. For more information, visit www.rbz.co.zw.
